LONDON BUTTER MARKET. AN IMPROVED DEMAND. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 29. There is an improved demand for butter on the London market. New Zealand choicest, salted and unsalted, is quoted at 1725; exceptionally good, 1745; Australian, 168s to 170s; Danish, 182s. Cheese is quiet. New Zealand white is quoted at 86s to 88s; coloured, 82s to 84s.

Last week's .report stated: The butter market shows a slightly improved demand for the best sorts, but inferior brands are very slow of sale. Choicest salted, New Zealand, is quoted at 168s to 170s; Australian, 164s to 1665. The price for unsalted is about 2s premium. Danish is firmer at 178s. The cheese market is dull. New Zealand, white, is quoted at 88s and coloured at 82s. No Australian is offering. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London office, dated July 28: —Butter: New Zealand choicest, 170s ft) 1725, market firm; Danish, 180s; Australian, 168s. Cheese: white, 86s to 88s, coloured, 82s, market slow. Dalgety and Company , Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated July 29 ; —Butter: There is an active demand. Canadian, white, 87s to 88s; 'coloured, 82s to 83s.
