FLOODS IN JAPAN.
EXTENSIVE DESTRUCTION. HUNDREDS OF LIVES LOST. Reuter. TOKIO. July 29. The police report that the floods in the Niigata prefecture washed away 754 houses and submerged more than 8000 others. At least 300 ware drowned or are missing. Thirty thousand acres of rice crops were destroyed.
