NOTES BY PICADOR. The Licensing Committee of the New Zealand Trottins Association will meet on Monday next in Christchurch to deal with the issue of licenses of trainers and drivers' licenses for the coming season. Logan Lou. who raced well at the Auckland winter meeting, is nicely handicapped in the August Handicap, to be decided at Addington next month. This cood mare performed excellently at Addington last year, and. as she has given indications of being right back to form, she may be in the limelight again soon. That very promising mare Direct Wood has been troubled with lameness lately and is not expected to be at her best next month. Direct Wood promises to reach good company in the new season if she keeps sound. Southern writers describe the yearling colt by Happy Voyage from Tui Russell as one of the finest seen in the Dominion. It is reported that his owner has already declined many tempting offers for him. Sea Pearl, winner of the. Adams Cup Memorial Handicap, is reported to have clone well in recent weeks a.nd is expected to strip very fit at Addington next month. Black Ballin. a promising young pacer, is being kept moving by E. S. Groat at Mangere and should be in excellent trim for the spring meetings. That good rnaro Betty Moko is on the easy list and she may not race again until the new season is fairly well advanced.
