COPPER KING'S FORTUNE. A DEATHBED STORY. NEW YORK. April 26. A message from Butte (Montana) states that the sensational legal ,battle for the millions left by the late Senator William A. Clark took a curious turn when another William Andrew Clark, owner of a small grocery business there, expecting his death called his lawyers on Sunday and swore that he was the father of the three women who claim that they are the daughters of the late copper millionaire by a former marriage. Having made affidavits, Clark died today, at the age of 79. He said ho was born in Indiana and that at Steward (Missouri) he married the mother of the three daughters who claimed the millions. He divorced that wife 46 years.ago. Coming to Montana he remarried and left six more children. If the authenticity of this affidavit is established, the claims will be quickly dismissed. The three women claiming his fortune declare that they are Clark's daughters, born in Missouri, and that he deserted their mother when they were infants.
