A NEYj ARCHDEACONRY;.. A meeting of -the standing committee of tho Anglican Diocese of Auckland was held on Tuesday, . - Archbishop Averill anounced that Arch;, deacon Simkin had been appointed eesan secretary and would take over the work in August. As Archdeacon Simkin had asked that he bo allowed also to con - cinue with work of a definitely spiritual character, Archbishop Averill said he had decided to create a new archdeaconry, which would probably be called the Archdeaconry of Manukau. Archdeacon Simkin would be pleaced in charge of-this archdeaconry, which would include the following parishes:—Manurewa, Papakura, PukekoluN, Tuakau, Clevedon, Wat--uku, Bombay, Hauraki Plains, Thame:-! and Coromandel, . Whe.n the new Waibato diocese 'was created the Auckland diocese lost thoarchdeaconries of Taranaki and Waikato, hut retained the archdeaconries of Waimate and Waitemata. To these has now been added tho archdeaconry of Manukau.
