According to a report by the engineer to the County Council t)ie trouble is a bent shaft, already twice replaced. lie said he did not think it was much use spending any more money on the crushes. It would be better to wait until it broke and buy a new one.

Members seemed disinclined to follow this view until Mr. Parfilt, on learning that n shaft would cost £IOO, promptly moved for tho purchase of a new crusher at a cost £4lO. This was carried. It now remains only for the old ono to break up.
