Tho vital statistics for tho month of March sjiow that tho total births registered for urban areas amounted to 1175, as against 991 in February, an increase of 184. Tho deaths in March wero 493, an increase of 63 as compared with tho previous month.
Of the total deaths, malos contributed 247 and 'females 246." Forty-nine of tho deaths, wero of children under five years of age,' being'9.-94-per cent, of the whole number. Ihirty-eight of theso wore under one year of ago. - - * ■ ,
