CITY MILK SUPPLIES.
THE MUNICIPAL SYSTEM. MOVEMENT IN AUSTRALIA. [by telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT. J WELLINGTON. Wednesday! A cablegram was received to-day by Mr. W. H. Bennett, chairman of the Milk Committee of the city council, from Mr. E. K. Herron, general-manager of the department, who is at present in Melbourne reporting to the Melbourne City Council upon the proposed inauguration of a municipal milk supply system for that city. The cable states that Mr. Herron has received an invitation to visit Canberra to advise trio Federal Government upon matters in connection with "the establishment. of a similar system in Canberra. This would involve an extension of ten days in Mr. Hcrron's visit to Australia, and the matter is to be considered. In another communication Mr. Herron has stated that Sydney is also beginning to look to its milk supply, and that a private company is spending .C 70.000 in installing an up-to-date plant.
