TREATMENT BY WIRELESS.
PASSENGER ON ARAHURA. INSTRUCTIONS FROM SHORE. [by telegraph.—-press association. ] NELSON. Wednesday. Daring the Arahura's passage from Nelson' to Wellington on Monday evening a lady passenger was stricken with a sudden and serious illness. There, being 110 doctor on board, the wireless operator, Mr. Bacon, described the symptoms to a doctor in Wellington, who gave instructions regarding treatment. With the assistance of another lady passenger and a chemist who happened i •; he on board, these were systematical! • followed, and when the vessel arrived a* Wellington, the medical man, who had been called again when the vessel was coming in through the Heads, was on the wharf, awaiting the arrival of the patient, who was, then taken to a private hospital. It is felt that, had it not been for the wireless and for tho precautions taken, death would' probably have occurred.
