BURGLARS IN WHANG AREI, CHARGE OF GELIGNITE USED. [BY TELEGBAJPH. —OWN COBKESPONDENI.] WHANG AREI. Wednesday. After entering the premises of the Hikurangi branch of the Farmers' Union Trading Company by forcing the back door burglars endeavoured to blow open the safe. A charge of gelignite was fired in the lock but it failed to release the catch. It was necessary, however, to get a blacksmith next day to gain entrance to the safe. So fa.r it is not known whether anything was stolen from the shop.
