THEATRE QUEUE.

Sir,—l fullv endorse "Fairplay's" remarks, having been ,a sufferer on many occasions, but the offenders the other evening were of a much cooler class than those mentioned by "a airplay, as they simply planted themselves in twos, threes, fours, etc., in the already formed queue. One would hardly be expected to "keep one's dignity, after_ arriving at- 5 p.m., hungry and tired after a day's work, in order to get a good seat in the front row of the gallery, on finding that- at 6.30 a continual stream of young ladies and gentlemen f liardly such, but one has to he polite) who have had time for tea and a good wash, push themselves in with such an air of good breeding alongside those who have kept their positions, that one wonders what would happen to women and children in a shipwreck with such people. Well, I learned a lesson the other evening, and T came to the conclusion that good breeding in these days is useless, and one might just as well lie in the dust and be trampled upon. However, I decided that if I took the latter course, my hunger and long waiting would be in vain, so I simply jumped up twelve and considered in doing so that I was in my rightful position. Probably if all those in the queue before latecomers did the same, those who had been early and kept positions for such, finding themselves pushed back, might in future look out for themselves and leave their friends to do the Same and so "play fair" in this socalled day of "sports." Such a proceeding might cause a riot, but it would certainly bring either the police or the theatre attendants to the rescue. GAl&erx.
