MORE PLANTiNG URGED. VISCOUNT BURNHAM'S VIEWS. A. and N.Z. 110 BART. Oct. 14. The Empire Pi ess Union delegates have arrived at Launceston. Speaking at, a civic reception, Viscount Burnham referred to afforestation. He said the Government should place a fixed sum on the Estimates each year for this purpose. He had never seen a country which was better adapted than Tasmania, except possibly New Zealand, for the. growth of valuable hard and soft woods.
