THREE DAYS UNCONSCIOUS.
VICTIM OF POISON OAS. RESULT OF EXPERIMENTING. LONDON PROFESSOR'S CASE. By Telegraph—-Press Association Copyright. (Received .10.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, Oct. U. Professor Lefroy, who for some years had been experimenting with poison gases for the destruction of insect pests at the Imperial College of Science, was found by his wife on Sunday in his experiment ing room in a state of collapse. He was apparently suffering from the effects of poison gas. He was removed to a hospital in a serious condition. To-day the professor is stilt unconscious, after three days and nights. The doctors are handicapped through not knowing the properties of the gas with which he was experimenting when he was overcome. Professor Lefroy narrowly escaped death in March through inhaling an odourless Lewisite gas which was designed in 1918 for the war. but was not. used.
