« SEASON'S FIXTURES. October 3. 7—Wellington Trotting Club. October 17, 21—Auckland Trotting Club. October 31—Te Aroha Trotting Club. November 21, 25—Otahuhu Trotting Club. November 10. 12. 13— N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club. December s—Waikato Trotting Club. NOTES BY PICADOR. The Wellington Trotting Clifb has received excellent entries for its spring meeting, which is to bis held on October 3 and 7. Strange to say, Auckland stables are poorly represented, and Delavan Bill appears to be cur only representative. No doubt the nearness of the fixture to the spring meeting at Alexandra Park contributed largely to the almost total absence of Auckland horses from the list of nominations. Tannhauser is doing nicely and so also is Peter McDonald. Both horses are being trained by J. Shaw and give promise of being payable propositions this season. Tho formor is a good pacer and has a useful turn of speed. . The pacing gelding Prince Lyons, who has been racing in Auckland during tho past couple of seasons, has joined R. Berry's team at New Brighton. H. Hendrickßen is keeping Roisterer and Gambler's Gold moving, and both horses are making very satisfactory progress. W. J. Morgan is working a three-year-old trotter by Peter Moko from a Copa de Ora mare. The youngster is still green and will take time. The continued wet weather has prevented trainers from doing a great deal with their horses and there has not been much doing at Alexandra Park. A spell of fine weather would be welcomed by local trainers.
