DAIRY COMPANY ORDERS.
AMOUNT OF STAMP DUTY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Tuesday. The enforcement of a stamp duty of 5s on dairy company orders as against the previous duty of 2s was referred to by Mr. A. M. Bisley at a meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. He reminded the meeting that when legislation along these lines was introduced the chamber immediately communicated with the Government and was assured that tho duty of 5s was simply a mistake and would never be enforced. Mistake or not, however, the duty it appeared had,to be paid, said Mr.' Bisley. Tho meeting resolved to solicit the assistance of Mr. J. A... Young, M.P., in' securing an amendment of the Act. 5
