The Leader of tho Parliamentary Liberal Party, Mr. Lloyd George, gave a dinner to the members of the Eighty Club and the 1920 Club jointly. In the course of a speech Mr. Lloyd George said the cure suggested by the Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, for the increasing economic peril in Britain was " talk and taxes." If the crisis were prolonged tho Government would bo driven to seek relief from its pledges and protection would come liko a thief in the night. The Liberals must be prepared for evdry emergency.
