BILLIARDS MATCH.
McCONACHY AND FALKINER. THE PLAYERS IN FINE FORM. The billiards match between C. Falkiner and G. McConachy was continued at the Moon Mo tors Buildings yesterday, tho afternoon session being one of tho best to date so far as scoring was concerned. Tho play was greatly appreciated by tho spectators. At this session Falkiner mr.de tho highest break up to that stage, a brilliant run of 426. He was warmly applauded for his display. McConachy also played fine billiards and finished only on« point behind his opponent in the afternoon. In the evening, Falkiner again made a break of 426, while McConachy ran to session points with an unfinished break of 646. Tho scores at the end of Wednesday night's play were: McConachy, in play, 12,000; Falkiner, 11,755. On resuming yesterday McConachy, with 11 unfinished, carried on to 58. On his first visit to the table Falkiner scored 118 by snappy, all-round play, McConachy replying with a similar number on his next visit. A little later Falkiner made his 426 break by means of nursery cannons and all-round play, showing great judgment and precision. This gave him the lead again. , McConachy, however, playing with determination, pat on runs of 124 and 118, passing his opponent's score. Falkiner soon placed a run of 142 to his credit, and then McConachy, by attractive top-of-table play, made a further run of 105. Shortly after this Falkiner ran to session points with the scores: Falkiner, in play, 12,666; , McConachy, 12,665. The evening session again attracted a largo attendance. Falkiner registered another 426 break before failing over an easy losing hazard. He is displaying great form at present and received an ovation at tho conclusion of the break. Playing with his characteristic determination, McConachy ran to session points witfi an unfinished break of 646. Ho also received an ovation. The scores are: McConachy, in play, 13,334; Falkiner, 13,106. ( The best breaks were: McConachy, 646 unfinished, 124, 118, 118, and 105; Falkiner, 426, 426, 118, and 142. Tho match will be continued to-day at 3 p.m. and 8 p.rti. The finish of the game promises to bo very exciting.
