EDUCATION CONFERENCE.
PROCEEDINGS CONCLUDED. A VISIT TO HAMILTON. The conference of local educational authorities and representatives of industry and commerce with Mr. Frank Tate, director of education in Victoria, and Mr. John Caughley, director of the New Zealand Department of Education, on questions relating to post-primary education brought its discussions to a conclusion on Saturday, after a very comprehensive review of the points submitted for discussion. At the conclusion of its proceedings the conference, on the motion of Mr. H. S. W. King, passed a resolution of thanks to the Minister for Education for_ having provided the opportunity of meeting Mr. Tate. Messrs. Tate and Caughley will to-day be in Hamilton to meet the representatives of education there. Sir. Tate will be in New Zealand until the end of March, gathering data upon which to base the report which he has been invited by the Minister to present upon New Zealand post-primary education.
