AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. The tone of the Auckland sharcmarket yesterday was good. . 1 here was again stqpdy demand for Government securities. War Loans, 1930, were on offer at £97, buyers £96 ,10s. There were buyers of the 1938 issue at £96 12s 6d, with holders asking £97. Buyers of the 1927 issue were present at £97 10s., or 2s 6d i lower than the previous day's ofter, with no sellers. Soldiers' Loan bonds had sale at £lOl, 2s 6d better than Thursday's sale. Buyers closed at £IOO 15s. In commercial debentures Auckland Gas, per cent., changed bauds at £lO2, the market clos- | ing ;it buyers £lOl 10s, sellers £lO3. In banks New Zealands were unchanged at I buyers 52s 9d, holders 53s 3d. New Zealand rights had sale at 31s 6(1, as on the previous day. More were available at that figure, buyers closing at 31s 4d, a drop of one penny from the opening. There was a transaction in Unions of Australia (ordinary) at £l4, Holders closing at £l4 I Is, or 6d below the previous day's quotation. Buyers offered £l3 19s. The new Union issue was done at £l4 Is 9d. Buyers of Now South Wales advanced 5s to £4l 15s, holders remaining firm at £42. In insurances New Zealands sold at 30s 9d. The closing figures, were equal to those of Thursday, buyers 30s 6d, sellers 31s. In shipping Northern Steams were done at 16s 3d, buyers closing at 16s, holders lbs 4d. There was a sale of New Zealand Farmer's Fertiliser at 965, with late inquiry at 93s 6d. lower than the previous day's offer by Is 6d. New Zealand Refrigerating (con.), had sale at 10s 6d, more being wanted at 10s 3d, holders 10s 9d. Most other miscellaneous lines were quoted at about late rates. In mining Wail) is were done at 25s bd, late buyers 255, sellers 25s 9d. Kuranuis had sale at Is, with a. Life inquiry at. 9d. Knwaraus at 26s were sought at 24s 6d.
