London, under date February 20:- -New Zealand prime crossbred mutton. North Island, heavy, 7!d; light, B}d. Tho market for New Zealand mutton is weaker. The demand runs principally on light weights. New Zealand prime ox beef, hinds, -"'id; fores, 4'-d. Tho market for New Zealand beef is firm. MARKET REPORTS. FRUIT AND PRODUCE. The Auckland C ity Markets were over stocked yesterday with ripe Bon Chretien pears, tomatoes, and inferior grade apples. Practically rill lines of fruit were, in heavy supply. Prices for lemons were lower on account of the Italian varieties corning forward. Potatoes were in very heavy supply. Eggs, which were in fair supply, advanced considerably in price, as much as 2s 3d a dozen being realised. Most of the cockerels which came forward were not fattened. The following prices were realised :~ FIIUIT Gravepstein apples, 5s to 9s a bushel case; Scarlet Pearmain apples, Oa to 7s Od a case: cooking apples, Os 9d to 5s a case; inferior apples, all varieties. 2s to 3s 3d a case; ripe Bon Chretien pears, 3s Od to 5s Od a case; firm, green Bon Chretien pears, 7a fo 8s fid a bushel; tomatoes, 2s to 3s a case; few extra stood varieties, up to 4s; ot hers, from Is Od; hothouse grapes, good colour and quality, Is 3d to Is 1 fid per lb: poorer coloured from lid per lb; few outdoor varieties, 5a to (is a 16lb box: passion fruit, best grades. 3s Od to 4s, Od a case; peaches, poor lines, 4s Od to 7s a case: choice coloured peaches, 8s to l'2s; plums (scarce), poor quality, 4s Od to 7a a case; ripe bananas (scarce). 25s a case; lemons. 5s to 12s a case, according to quality.
