AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Business was again quiet on the Auckland sharemarkct yesterday. In Government securities, War Loan, 1930, sold at £96 15s. The .1938, 1939 and 1927-41 issues of Inscribed Stock were on offer at £97, but no buyers responded. Inquiry for Soldiers' Inscribed showed no change at £IOO 10s. In banks, holders of New Zealarfds advanced 3d to 53s 3d, while buyers made a similar improvement to 52s 9d. Rights were wanted at 31s 6d, as against 31s 4d on the previous day, with inquiries at 31s sd. Nationals of New Zealand at £6 16s 6d were wanted at £6 14s. Unions of Australia were unaltered at holders £l4 2s 6d, buyers £l3 19s, while the new issue was on offer at £l4 4s, one shilling below Tuesday's figure, though no buyers responded. In insurance, New Zealands were unchanged at holders 31s, buyers 30s fid, while holders asked 48s for South British without response. In gas, Aucklands had inquiry at 24s 6d, with holders at 24s 9d. In miscellaneous stock, Saufords («rd.) was sold in three instances at 19s, late holders asking 20s, buyers 18s 6d. Taranaki Oil sold at 29s Id. Inquiry rose yesterday from 26s 9d to 27s at the first call, and to 28s 6d at the final call, with holders at 29s 6d. Considerable interest is being taken in these shares, although there lias been no reported development since the flotation of the company. It would appear there are sanguine expectations for the success of the venture. In mining, Waihi maade no change, holders being at 25s 9d, buyers 25s 6d.
