NOTES FROM TAURANGA.
BOATING AMD SHOOTING. [BT telegraph.—own correspondent.] TAURANGA. Wednesday. A meeting to consider tho question of raising funds for making additions to the Rowing Club's plans was held lastevening. Mr. C. Tonkin, captain of the club, referred to (ho necessity of pureeing two practice pair oar boats and a racing pair oar boat, and it was decided that a circular bo forwarded to residents in the town and neighbourhood appealing for funds, and that a gala be held on Easter Monday. The first shoot for the Memorial Cup was fired under service conditions at 200 yards and 300 yards. The top score (74) was made by Harry Oliver, the two lead tag men being ineligible, having already won the trophy. The scores are:—Harold Oliver, 88; E. J. Smallfield, 84; Harry Oliver, 74; W. Carswell, 69; P. G. Mcintosh, 66; T. Floyd, 57; W. Kennedy, 54; E. King, 48; G. Kiddie, 46; T. Keanan, 44; N. Carmichael, 43; R. Phelps, 40 5 CJ» JftsMl®
