BOYS FOR THE DOMINION.
SALVATION ARMY SCHEME.
TO BE TRAINED AS FARMERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUTARURU. Saturday. Thirty-six boys from England are duo to arrive at Auckland on November 25, en route to the Salvation Army training farm, Putaruru, to be trained as young fanners for the Dominion. This is the first draft of a total of 200 boys being brought from Britain by the Salvation Army, of whom 100, between the ages of 14 and 18 yeare of age, are to go to the training farm, where the building of extra accommodation for them was started this week. At present there are 71 lads of school age at the orphanage at the farm and seven older lads as farm trainees. All are from Great Britain, and the 71 younger children are scholars at the Patefere public school, which was established by the .Education Board in connection, (vith the farm orphanage, and is also available to settlers' children in the neighbourhood.
