POSTMAN'S BAG REMOVED.

FEW VALUABLE CONTENTS.

An impudent theft of a quantity of letters from a postman's delivery bag in Short's Buildings, Queen Street, was peryesterday morning. The postman wat engaged in delivering mail in the bui/ding about 8.30 a.m. and placed his bag in the passage on the first floor while he delivered letters in another part. On his return the bag, which contained a large number of letters, was missing.

The bag was subsequently found in a convenience on the same floor, but in the meantime four or five packets, each con taining about 100 letters had bcii abstracted. The greater number, however, were recovered later in the day. Fortunately there wero few registered letters in the bag.
