Interviewed to-day and asked if they had anything to say in connection with Hannan's remarks regarding races at Auckland and his reply to the Mayor's telegram askng him to compete at Dargaville, Mr, George Ceruti, assistantsecretary of the New South Wales League of Scullers, stated that he had cabled to the league: "Everything here satisfactory. All conditions for Australasian championship complied with under rules laid down by league." A reply had been received from Mr. Wolfe (secretary of the league), asking that two copies of the conditions controlling the championship be forwarded to the council of the league for signature. Thig .had been done, and within a fortnight affiliation would be complete.. 4 Regarding Hannan, Mr. Ceruti said he had nothing to add to his last statement. McDevitt said he did not intend to reply to Hannan. Should he (McDevitt) win the championship, he would be prepared to accept a challenge from anyone and from anywhere, but Hannan would find it necessary this time to affix his signature 'to. properly drawn-up legal articles before he (McDevitt) would have any more to do with him.
