TE AROHA AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT } TE AEOHA, Friday. The Te Aroha Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, presiding. It was agreed not to charge a Hamilton taxi proprietor a license fee for his ecrvice from Hamilton to Te Aroha during the strike period. The Minister in charge of health and tourist resorts writing with reference to the proposal to erect a new bowling pavilion in the Te Aroha Domain, reminded the council that he had promised to endeavour' to obtain authority up to £500. He found, however, that the cost of the proposed building was £480. The letter was referred to the Bowling and Croquet Club with a request that the extra sum be raised. The Mayor was deputed to proceed to Wellington to endeavour tp reach finality in connection with the erection of the new ferro-concrete traffic bridge over the Wailiou Kiver at Te Aroha.
