BUTTER-FAT TESTS.
."'V' — 1 r - ' \.T NOTEWORTHY FIGURES. (BT , • TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT.] : MORRINSVXLIiE, Wednesday. . Some very high tests have been recorded during the . past month by the officers of the two Morrinsville groups of the s New' Zealand Co-operative Herd-testing Association. They report that in cases where the herds have I plenty of feed the butterfat yields have ' gone down only about 50 per cent, since the flush. In other cases, however, the cows have only been milked once a day. Where feed has been good it is estimated that the average yield for April has been 251b. of fat per cow., - The officers state that it has been , quite j common to meet with tests of 10 ana 11, but what they believe to be a record for ■ a cow in normal health =is that of 12.4,. given by one of Mr. J. Charleton's , herd at Tauhei. This cow, however, gave a very small quantity of milk, only 2£lb. per day, which would work out at only 9.281b. of butter-fat for, the month. r -•
