The Navy Department announces that the Estimates for the restoration of its properties damaged or destroyed by the earthquake total 892,000,000 yens. They will be presented in a special Budget at an extraordinary session of the Diet in June. '-'"'".' v ijA 10 years' programme of rebuilding and replacement of destroyed arms and munitions is planned, but the greatest part of the expenditure will be made in the restoration of the Yokohama naval The appropriations for 1924 include 6,500,000 yen for discharge allowances for 10,000 navy yard employees,- who are being dismissed in accordance with the navy readjustment plans.
