STOCKS AND SHARES.

Normal conditions prevailed on the j Auckland sbaremarket yesterday. In New Zealand Government securities there was inquiry for most lines, but no business was done. In War Loans, 1930, there were buyers at £96 ss, and for the 1927 issue at £97 10s, while the 1938 and 1941 issues were available at £97. New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1927, was wanted at £97 10s, and there was inquiry for the 1929 issue at £97 and for the 1939 issue at £96 Ss. Buyers of Soldiers' Loan, both bonds and inscribed stock, offered £100 ss. New Zealand Breweries debentures had sale at 20s 9d per 20s worth. In banks New Zealands changed hands at 52s 3d, buyers closing at 525, holders 52s 6d. Commercials of Australia (pref.) were done at £6 8s 6d. Australasias, at £13 ss, were sought at £13 Is. Nationals of New Zealand were wanted at £6 13s, holders asking £6 15s. New South Wales, at £42, had buyers at £40 10s. Unions of Australia were asked for at £14 10s. sellers £14 lis. In insurances Now Zealands were quoted at 30s 3d, buyers 29s lOd. South British were wanted at 41s, sellers 41s 6d. There were buyers of Nationals at 76s 6d, holders quoting 795. In miscellaneous lines Wilsons (N.Z.) Cements were sold at 29s 3d, late buyers 295, sellers 29s 6d. Most other miscellaneous lines were quoted at about late rates. In mining Waihis had buyers at 31s ad, holders asking 31s lOd. Grand Junctions, at 4s sd, were sought at 4s 3d. The following sales took place—New Zealand Breweries debentures (per 20s worth), 20s 9d: Commercial Bank of Australia (pref.), £6 8s 6d; Bank of New Zealand, 52s 3d; Wilsons (N.Z.) Cement, 29s 3d.
