BUTTER AGAIN CHEAPER.
PRICE LOWERED BY PENNY.
THE AUCKLAND MARKET.
A reduction of one penny per pound in the price of butter in Auckland will take effect from to-day. The new wnolesale rates will be .-—Superfine, Is 6|d; first grade, Is 6d ; second grade, Is 53 per lb; and the retail prices Is 9d, Is 8d and Is 7d per lb respectively. This reduction brings the Auckland prices in line with those prevailing in Wellington. A reduction of one penny per pound in the local price was made eight days ago. In the meantime London market quotations show a decline from 180s and 184s per cwt to 170s to 172s per cwt. This drop represents approximately one penny per pound, and the local price has been reduced in sympathy * with the London decline.
