ACCIDENTS IN AUCKLAND.
TWO OLD LADIES INJURED.
ONE KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAM
Two women of advanced years, both the victims of accidents, were admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday.
Mrs. Elise Taylor, aged 86, of 92, Lincoln Street, Ponsonby, fell on her front verandah last evening and fractured her right leg. She was taken to the hospital in the ambulance, and at an early hoar this morning was reported to be progressing favourably. - Miss Caroline Hawke, aged 72, of 62, Williamson Avenue, Grey Lynn, was knocked down by a tramcar while crossing Ponsonby Road from Western Park about 4 p.m. yesterday. She sustained injuries to her side, but her , condition is not considered serious.
A middle-aged man, Mr. James Shaw, was taken to the hospital by the police in a very feeble condition, suffering from exposure and want of food. It is stated that he had been sleeping out in Western Park.
The railway shunter of Helensville, Mr. William Lang, who was knocked down by a truck in the Helensville yards on Wednesday, has been admitted to the Auckland Hospital.
