POLICE COURT NEWS.
YOUTH STEALS MCfNEY. TO COME UP FOE SENTENCE. The theft of £2 8s Id from a house at Wiri was admitted by John Munro, aged 20, who appeared in the Police Court on Saturday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. It was stated that the young man's father and mother were both dead, and the whereabouts of any relatives were unknown. He was out of work and was given a job on a farm at Wiri. While his employer was away, he found a leather bag containing the money, which he took. He left the place, and had intended going back to Rotorua, where he could "have stayed with some Maoris. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence in six months. In the meantime, he is to be looked after by the Salvation Army authorities. BICYCLES DISAPPEAR. On charges of ha.ving stolen two bicycles at Point Chevalier, each valued at £10, Albert Nowald, aged 24, was remanded for a week. Accused said he would plead guilty. One bicycle has been recovered, and inquiries about the other are being made.
