AUCKLAND STOOS EXCHANGE.

' The tone of the Auckland sharemarket was unchanged on Saturday/ a fair amount of business being transacted. In Government securities there was inquiry for New Zealand War Loans, 1938 and 1939, at £96 12s 6d, the Inscribed Stock of the same issues being sought at £96 15s. War Loans, 1927, and New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1927, were quoted at £97 15s, and Soldiers' Inscribed Stock at £102. In ordinary debenwsra issues there was a sale of New Zealand Breweries, Ltd., at 21s 6d, with further inquiry at the same figure. In banks business was transacted in New Zealands at 625. further buyers offering 51s 6d, sellers 52s 3d. Unions of Australia, quoted at £14 15s, were sought at £14 12s. In insurances New Zealands, available at 30« 9d," were wanted at 30s 3d. South British had inquiry at 39s 6d- .In shipping Devonport Steam Ferry had buyers at 25s 6d, sellers at 26s 9d. Huddart-Parkers had inquiry at 42s 9d, and P. and O. Deferred Stock at £290. In miscellaneous lines there was a sale of Wilson* Cement at 31s, other buyers offering the same figure, sellers 31s 3d, In mining there were sales of Waihia at prices ranging from 31s 9d to 32s 3d, late buyers offering 31s 6d, sellers 32s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions had buyers at 6s 3d, sellers 6s 7d. Moanataiaris had buyers at 3s, sellers asking 3a 4d. The following sales took place:—New Zealand Breweries, Ltd., debentures, 21s 6d, Bank of New Zealand, 525; Wilsons Cement, 31s; Waihi, 32b, 31s 9d, 32s 3d.
