LOSS OF OIL CARGO.
£111,235 FOR STANDARD CO. HOUSE OF LORDS DECISION. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 23. The House of Lords awarded the Standard Oil Company of New York £111,°"5 damages against the Clan Line of steamers for this loss of cargo aboard the Clan Gordon, a turret-built ship which turned turtlo and sank on a voyage from New York to China. The Standard Oil Company was originally awarded £98,000 by the Lower Court in Scotland, but the Court of Sessions upset the judgment, which the House of Lords has now restored with arrears added.
