The • tone of the Auckland sharemarket yesterday was; firm. In New Zealand Government, securities, Soldiers' Loan' 5£ per cent, inscribed stock changed hands at £102, with late buyers at - £101 15s and sellers at £102 2s 6d. • r Other loan issues were in good demand at recent rates. ; 11l debenture stocks, Auckland ■■ Gat), Vll/28, . sold at' £105 10s. In. banks, Australasias had demand at £13 10s, sellers £13 16s. Commercials (ord.) were wanted ;at 37s 6d, and New South Wales at j'4o 15s, no sellers' quoting. New Zealands at'63s 3d were sought at 62s 6d. P. and o,'s and Unions had eelleirs at £15. In insurancee, New Zealands sold at 31s, with further sellers at that price, buyer? 30s 6J.. South ' British were done at 425, late fief* lers 42s 6d, : buyers 41s 6d, Nationals were looked -for at 80s 6d,. sellers 82s. For Standards 37s 9d was offered. In timbers, kauiJis changed hands at 28s 6d. In. miscellaneous lines, Wilsons Cements had sale at 27s 9d. There were no transactions in. mining lines. Waihis had inquiry at 25s ,4d, sellers 25s 6d.
