CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION.
injuries at NIHOTUPU. A claim for compensation came before the, Arbitration Court - yesterday. The case was Joseph Edward Rogers (Mr. Tuck) against/the Auckland City Council, and counsel agreed to submit written argument for the Court's decision. Plaintiff claimed £3 15s a week for the period of his incapacity from work, occasioned by an injury to his knee. ; The injury was the result of falling over a bank while proceeding along "the track to the water reservation works, at : Nihotupu, where he was employed, when returning from a visit to his home at Auckland late' on Sunday evening, June 10 last. It was his usual practice to leave the works each alternate Friday and return on the Sunday evening. He was paid for the < hours actually worked, and his average weekly earnings exceeded £7 16s.
