Thursday* At the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. Platts, S.M., the stock inspector proceeded against several settlers for failing to secure permits to remove stock from a tick-infested area into a clean area. Fines of £5 were imposed in each instance, Mr. Platts saying the practice must be stopped.
