NORTH PACIFIC FLIGHT.

MISSION TO PREPARE ROUTE.

30 OIL DEPOTS PLANNED.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 3.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 21.

In their attempt to fly round the world Captain Macmillan and Captain Malins will use the North Pacific route. This holds the great testing span of .3000 miles from Japan to Alaska on which petrol and landing grounds are not available. An expedition to remedy deficiencies will start on May 15 in the steam yacht Frontiersman, under the command of Captain R. Pocock. This mission will survey a seaplane route in the North Pacific and establish 30 depots at 200-mile intervals between Hongkong and Vancouver. It will also attend the trans-Pacific flight as a tender in case of emergency.
