MURRAY V. HANSEN.

The professional boxing contest which wil'f take place on Friday evening between L. Murray, light-weight champion of New Zealand, and F. Hanson, of Auckland, for a purse of £150, should provide a fast and exciting bout. On his first appearance in Auckland in his recent bout with W. Scroggings, of Australia, Murray showed himself to be a clever and attractive boxer. In Hansen, the ex-amateur welter-weight champion of New Zealand and Australia. Mutray will find himself opposed to a much faster and cleverer opponent than he had in Scroggings. The contest is being promoted by the Northern Boxing Association in conjunction with the Summer Carnival Committee. ■ , ~ , . C. Blackburn, the clever Auckland lightweight boxer, who went to Australia anu entered the' professional ranks some months ago, is meeting with marked suooess in tb Commonwealth. He met with his first reverse recently in Brisbane, when Volaire receivod a points decision against him in a 20-round bout. Subsequently the pair met again at Rockhampton, the bout being declared a draw. Nolan, of Queensland. Commenting on Dignan's form, C. Blackburn, who was instrumental in arranging the contest, says that Dignan h«»s shown marked improvement since reaching Australia. He completely nonplussed Nolan with a telling straight left' and splendid footwork and is likely to make a _ name for himself in the . feather-weight division.
