FAREWELL TO DR. LAWS.
METHODIST PRESENTATION.
A farewell was given the Rev. Dr. C. H. Laws, Mrs. and Miss E. Laws in the Pitt Street Church yesterday. The Rev. Percy Knight, chairman of the Methodist district, presided, and those present included members of the committee of the Remucra Methodist College, and a number of clergymen and their wives. Dr., Mrs., and .Miss Laws are to leave for England shortly. A cheque lor a substantial amount "was presented to Dr. Laws from the Methodist laymen, chiefly of the Auckland district, and a travelling rug to Mrs. Laws. Solos were given by Misses G. Brooke and Jean Buttle, Miss Garland being the accompanist. Dr. H. Ranston will fill Dr. Law's position during his absence.
In the report of a presentation to Mrs. Moore-Jones published on Monday, it was stated that she is retiring from the principalship of the Ladies' College, Remuera. This is not the case. The presentation was made by the old girls of the college.
