REDUCTION IN CHARGES.

PORT OF LONDON RATES. [BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. Advice has been received by the Department of Industries and Commerce that the Port of London Authority has made a reduction of 10 per cent, on certain port charges with special reference to percentage addition to tariff, dock, and warehouse dues, rates and charges. The percentage additions now are: Dock dues and additional rent, 55 per cent.; dry dock charges and rent, 55 per cent.; discharging and extra charges, 65 per cent. ; imports landing and extra charges, 62£ per cent.;" exports charges, 62£ per cent.; additional- rent,, 55 per cent. Proportionate reductions will be made in rates on refrigerated produce, soft wood and common paper and boards, where the percentage increases have been merged into rates. The reductions will not apply to transactions before January 1 last. .-
