There was no alteration in the tone 01 the 'Auckland sharernarket on Saturday. Inquiry "•was made for practically all Government securities, but sellers in most instances failed "to quote. ''Soldiers' Loan (bonds) were wanted at £97 7s 6d, and (inscribed stock) £100 15s, bonds only being quoted by holders at £102. Government War Loans, 1938, quoted at £97 10s. had buyers at £97. .New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, were offered at £97 7s 6d, buyers £97. There was again firm inquiry for local body ■ debentures, but only Auckland Harbour Board S\ per cents, were quoted by sellers, who asked £97 12s 6d, buyers £97. ~ln : ; banks Nationals had buyers at £6 6s, sellers £6 Bs. Now Zealanda were inquired for at 56s 9d, sellers 57s 6d. Unions of Australia were asked for at £13 15s, sellers £14. In insurances there were inquiries for New Zealands at 275, sellers 27s 6d. South British were offered at 38s. Miscellaneous stocks remained practically unaltered at recent quotations. In mining Waihis were wanted at 3(Js, sellers 30s 9d. Grand Junctions were again asked for at 8s 9d, sellers 9s. There was steady inquiry for Moanataiaris at 3s lOd, sellers 4s 2d. No sales took place. ' AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
