Free State troops, with artillery, are carrying out large scale »operations agatest rebel positions in the Cavan and Leitrim mountains. The rebels hare been terrorising and plundering Ballyconncl, Ballinamore, and other towns. The sweeping movement includes special trains, armoured cars, and lorries with machine-guns and big guns. A big round-up is expected. Six women and one man were arrested in Limerick after bribing a gaol sentry to arrange the escape of 30 prisoners. Thirty men scaled a wall and reached an adjoining cemetery, where women received them and offered refreshment. The escapees proved to be soldiers in mufti, the sentry having reported the attempted bribery to his officers.
