WESTMINSTER SINGERS.
Firmly established in popular favour, I the Westminster Glee Singers delighted another large audience last evening at the Town Hall, when the fourth concert of the season was given. The members of the talented combination were given a most enthusiastic reception, practically every item on the programme being encored. Admirable renderings were given by the combined adult singers of the quartettes, "Summer Eve" (Hatton), "The Ash Grove" (old Welsh air), and Prendergast's humorous , number, "Phyllis . Dyes Her Tresses Black." Their extra numbers were equally acceptable. The boys of the party were heard in three nursery rhymes specially composed j! for them by TV C. Sterndale Bennett, "Little 80-Peep." "Mistress Mary," and "Goosey Gander." The glee singers gave remarkably fine renderings of "Love Wakes and Weeps" (a serenade by J. G. Callcott), a cycle of Scottish songs arranged by Mr. E. Branscombe, Thomas Morley's ballet, "My Bonnie Laßs She Smileth," and a speciallyarranged vocal waltz. Mr. Alfred Cunningham contributed "The Devout Lover" (Maud Valerie White), Mr. Donald Reid sang "The Meeting of the Waters," a quaint old Irish air; Mr. John Andrews sang the bass solo, "Tears of Anguish" (Reichardt). with vocal accompaniment and Mr. Ellis Vizard the tenor solo, "The Clown's Song" (Hatton). Master Albert Cooper gave an excellent rendering of the song, "The Swallows" (Cowen), and Mr. H. Glaysher contributed some „ agreeable harp, solos. The fifth concert of the series will be given this evening.
