STANLEY BAY BEACH GALA.
The Stanley Bay Beach gala, held under the auspices of the Stanley Bay Improvement Society, proved a great success on Saturday. There were the usual sideshows, but the principal attraction was undoubtedly* the cabaret. An efficient ferry service conveyed thousands of plea-sure-seekers to the beach during the afternoon and evening. The. gala is for the purpose of raising funds to build a public hall suitable for the district. There is also a scheme to reclaim seven acres of Shoal Bay to be used as a recreation reserve. The gala will ba continued to-day and this evening.
