STOCKS AND SHARES.
Business on the 'Auckland sharemarket on Saturday was quiet. Inquiry for Government stocks was well maintained, but only in two cases did sellers quote. War Loan, 1938, at £96 15s, had demand at £96. Inscribed Stock, 1929, was offered at £96. In banks New Zealands (ex div.) sold at 56s and 55s 6d, the closing quotations being sellers 565, buyers 555. New South Wales at £35 10s were looked ior at £35 ss. For Union of Australias £13 8s 6d was offered, holders asking £13 lis. In insurances New Zealanua were quoted at sellers 28s 9d, buyers 235. For South British 35s fad was offered, without response. In mining Moanataiaris changed hands at 3s 3d, more being wanted at that price, sailers 3s sd.
