WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL
The Waitem&ta County Council met yesterday. Captain P. Theet presided, and there were also present: Messrs. A. Siaton, H. Day. W. Oliphant. W. H. Hart, A. M. Lang, W. I&scoU, A. J. Hatfield, A. Diprose, and H. Aitkenhcad. The engineer stated that several people had not complied with the by-laws respecting building permitß and noxiouai weeds, and he had handed a list of names of such offonders to the county solicitors. It was, decided, if the prosecutions were successful, to continue tbe issuing o/ summonses agaiflfit offenders. It was decided to place summonses of the by-laws in the various post offices throughout the district, and to auk the Government for' permission to display them at railway stations. It was stated that if the Oakley quarry was not worked very soon the plant would deteriorate. It was decided to call for tenders for the supply and delivery of metal from this quarry. It was reported, that application had been made to the Minister for Public Works, tho Hon. J. G. Coatea. to transfer his offer of £1000 for the metalling of Rodvalo-Silwr-dale Road to the metalling of SilverdaleDairy Flat Road. It was statod - that the Auckland office of the Public Works Department would recommend its approval. It was decided to obtain al tier native designs for the Oteha Stream Bridge. The proposal to proceed with the erection of the Wairau Bridge at Milfprd Beach under section 119 of the Public Works Act was decided upon, the Ta.kapuna Borough Council to pay half the cost.
