THE CONTRACT SYSTEM,
TUAPIRO TO TAURANGA.
[BY TELKGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TATJRAtfGA, Tuesday Some months ago the Bay of Plenty Development League and the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce passed resolutions urging the Government to adopt the contract system in connection with railway works. The Hon. J. G. Coatee, Minister for Public Works, now writes:— "I have to advise that it has now been decided to call for tenders for that length of line between Tuapiro and Tauranga. and for this purpose plans and specifications will shortly .be put. in hand."
