INTER-ISLAND MATCH.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—-PfiESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. At to-nigbt'a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Counoil it was decided to play & North v. South Island match at Cbristchurch on March 10. 11. and 13. Mr. K. Tucker was appointed sccctor for the North Is.and team, and Mr- R- Martin (Otago) of the South Island representatives. Christchurch was selected owing to the fact that the Basin Reserve in Wellington was not available for a Saturday match until April. Correspondence was received from Mr. A. C. MacLaren stating that the team he was bringing to New Zealand was, in his opinion, the strongest amateur side that had left England, including a majority of the team which defeated the Australians at Eastbourne, Correspondence from Australia regarding the proposed Australian tour was received. The committee expressed regret that, in upite of its endeavours, the tour had not been, arranged.
