SHELL DUMP TRAGEDIES.
NINE CHILDREN KILLED.
12 RECEIVE INJURIES. Renter. PARIS. Feb.' IS. Advices from Mayence state that the dangers lurking in various spots a s a result of the war are shown by two disasters. Children were playing round a dump near Friedland when a shell burst, killing nine.
A similar accident occurred at Perigeux. Some children were examining the fuse of a shell which was still charged when tho fuse exploded and 12 were wounded, five seriously. A schoolmaster was wounded, necessitating the amputation of an arm.
